KonaKart is an enterprise Java based eCommerce system aimed at medium to large online retailers. It provides a shop application used by customers to buy products.
KonaKart is partly open source and uses open standards. KonaKart includes a sophisticated browser based administration application. It uses AJAX technology to provide a quick user interface while the maintaining all of the advantages of running the application from a browser. The administration application includes role-based security which allows companies to define the administrative functions that should be allowed for different user groups.
The KonaKart engine implements a documented API, on top of which you can write integration modules and custom features in order to personalize your KonaKart offering.
This software has many customization and extension features which allows the online retailer to customize and extend the way KonaKart functions. Most of the customizable areas such as the store front application, payment, shipping and promotion modules are open source.
