Here’s a chart shows Amberol’s memory footprint compared to a range of other popular open source music players.

We are slightly disappointed with the memory footprint of Amberol. From a selection of music players it comes about midway but many of its peers offer a substantially larger range of features.

Naturally terminal-based music players are the most frugal with termusic, cmus, and our beloved musikcube winning this contest. But even machines with modest RAM shouldn’t struggle with Amerbol’s footprint.
