Audioloader – web-based MPD client

In Operation

To access your music collection, point your web browser to http://localhost:3400/

On my Arch MPD, album covers weren’t displaying, but this issue didn’t occur with Ubuntu. It’s something I’ll probably get around to sorting out, but it’s not urgent as I mostly use Ubuntu.

The interface makes it easy to listen to music albums from your web browser. Albums can be queued.

We can also search our MPD database, create a random set of folders, as well as mark folders as favourites. There’s support to play albums from Bandcamp and YouTube, but I didn’t test this functionality.

Summary

Audioloader’s focus is on listening to whole albums. This doesn’t meet with my listening flow. If you’re looking for something like CoverGrid but a web-based solution, Auduioloader might be fine for you.

As Audioloader is a front-end to MPD, important features like gapless playback are automatically supported.
