Blanket – focus and productivity tool

Summary

Blanket is a simple but effective utility. It can help you to focus on work recreating sounds you might hear in an office environment. Alternatively, if you have trouble getting to sleep at night, the utility may act as a distraction from issues that are playing on your mind. The pink noise or white noise sounds work well in this regard.

If you’re looking for late night distraction it’s probably wiser to use a mobile phone app to create soothing background sounds given that this will be a cheaper option from an energy perspective. But if you use a low power computer, Blanket is a viable alternative.

From our viewpoint, we find Blanket is a handy tool to recreate sounds in a city environment given the changes in work practices since COVID. It definitely offers a better solution from a productivity perspective than listening to a radio station or music as this inevitably grabs our attention. And it’s way better than trying to work in ‘silence’.

ps_mem reports that Blanket uses around 102MB of RAM.

I like the reassuring honk on the City sound.

Is that meant to be an owl in the City sound?
