Capri – build static sites with interactive islands

Capri lets you build static sites with interactive islands. There are no new APIs or patterns to learn.

It was created in search of the most carbon-friendly way to build a medium-sized website with mostly static content.

This is free and open source software.

Key Features

• Components-based – Capri sites are built with components. Use a framework like React, Preact, Svelte, Vue or SolidJS rather than a templating language.
• A Capri site does not contain any Capri-specific code at all. If you remove the Capri plugin from your Vite config, you end up with a fully functional application, albeit no longer static.
• Use the ecosystem of your favourite framework directly, without any detours.
• Ships zero KB of JavaScript to the browser by default.
• Live CMS previews.
• If parts of your site need to be interactive, you turn them into islands by simply naming your components *.island.(tsx|vue|svelte).
