9. KDE Connect
One of the real strengths of KDE Plasma 5 is KDE Connect. KDE Connect is an Android app and a Desktop app that acts as a bridge between your mobile devices and your computers. It’s a great piece of interstitial glue binding together KDE and Android. And the KDE Connect widget is a handy fillip.
With this widget you’ve got fast access to notifications, text messages, and more.
10. Notes
Keeping track of bits and pieces of information is a minefield. If you’ve got a passable short term memory, or suffer from ‘brain fog’, you’ll appreciate this desktop sticky notes widget.
The widget offers some basic formatting options; you can bold, italicize, underline, and strike-through text.
If you don’t like the default yellow color of your notes, you can change the background to white, black, red, orange, green, blue, or pink. We color code our notes with red notes acting as a reminder for urgent actions, green notes for climate control work, etc.
This is one of the default widgets.

11. Fokus
Fokus is a rather snazzy yet simple Pomodoro timer.
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, typically 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a pomodoro, from the Italian word for tomato.
Fokus lets you change the 25 minute focus timer, as well as the duration for short/long breaks. You can change the notification sounds, and even initiate scripts on pre-defined events.
12. TodoList
This is another simple but sweet widget that aims to improve your productivity. In the example image above, there’s 2 columns, but you can have more. By default, the background is transparent.
As you add a item, the widget automatically makes provision for the next note.
Once you have completed a task, just click the checkbox, and the note will be deleted. There’s an option to turn off the deletion.
There’s also a toggle to add back the desktop widget background.
