Internet Radio

Internet radio (also known as web radio, net radio, streaming radio, and online radio) is a digital audio service transmitted via the Internet.

Goggles Music Manager’s functionality in relation to internet radio is basic to say the least. There’s no access to the radio-browser.info catalog, a community driven project with an open API which collates internet radio and TV stations. Instead you’ll have to manually add each internet radio stream yourself.

Here’s the dialog box you’ll see when adding a new internet radio station.

We tried both the developer’s Ubuntu package as well as the package that part of the Community repository in Manjaro. While both playing streaming radio in MP3 format, other formats such as AAC merely generate a fatal decoder error.

I’m happy there’s a Gentoo package available.
