Summary
Goggles Music Manager is a competent and sprightly music player. It includes all the absolute essentials such as gapless playback. It doesn’t excel in any particular area, but it’s a good solution to both listen and manage your music collection.
GogglesMM uses the FOX library for its graphical user interface. FOX isn’t the prettiest or slickest GUI and lacks some modern UI functionality.
The developer has devoted effort to ensure SQLite queries are fast. The software is responsive to use even on older hardware.
GogglesMM uses its own playback engine but like the vast majority of open source music players relies on the third-party libraries to decode the audio codecs.

I’m happy there’s a Gentoo package available.
