Haruna – video player using libmpv

Last Updated on August 11, 2021

Summary

Haruna is an admirable media player and a capable front-end for mpv. We really like its automatic playlist generation, and excellent customization options. With more development it might usurp more established media players.

While support for youtube-dl and audio playback is useful, it’s no replacement for dedicated software in these areas.

Haruna is at a fairly early stage of development. We’ll be keeping a close eye on its development as the software matures.
