Team Fortress 2
Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer first-person shooter game developed and published by Valve. The game received acclaim for its art direction, gameplay, humor, and use of character in a multiplayer-only game.
We’re impressed with the performance of the HP EliteDesk playing Team Fortress 2. We see the machine producing a credible frames per second but things like particle effects and such like do drop the frame rate.
DOTA 2
DOTA 2 is one of the most popular free games available for Linux. This action/strategy game is touted as the most-played game on Steam. This game is extremely graphical intensive and really needs a dedicated graphics card.
The HP EliteDesk produces a much better performance than the Lenovo M93. While the latter could only muster 32-37 frames per second running the game at 1920×1080 with basic rendering, performance was considerably better with the HP. We could actually increase the rendering setting and still have fluid and compelling gameplay.
In summary, the HP EliteDesk is capable of running basic games really well, and even some graphically intensive games. Its graphics performance is light and day superior to the Lenovo M93. Naturally, you need to be realistic about gaming on either machine.
