Starting XDecorations draws a line of festive lights on your desktop together with floating snowflakes and an animated snowman.

The lights flash, the snowflakes move around and are periodically accelerated by huge gusts of wind, and the snowman switches between looking to the left and the right.

There’s tons of options to make a really memorable desktop.

With a suitable desktop background, a change of lamps, a Xmas tree, with reindeer and Santa, and things are already getting more festive.

XDecorations doesn’t only light up your desktop for the Xmas festive period. There’s eye candy targeted for the Autumn season, and for Halloween.  Enjoy your pumpkins and witches. And for creative types, you can add your own themes.

You can set the speed of the various parts of the theme and their positions, either from the command line or from a config file (which is stored at ~/.config/xdecorations.rc).
