Upbeat and family-friendly show including news, discussion, interviews and reviews from the Ubuntu, Linux and Open Source world.
About the Show
The Ubuntu Podcast (formerly known as the Ubuntu UK Podcast) covers all the latest news and issues facing Ubuntu Linux users and Free Software lovers in general. The show aims to appeal to a Linux newbie as well as the oldest coder.
Ubuntu Podcast is broadcast on a fortnightly basis. Shows examine what has been in the news, and the latest happenings in the Ubuntu community. There are interviews, chats about projects, reviews of hardware, details of forthcoming events and conferences, interesting snaps, and listener feedback. Examples of recent interviewees include 3 members of “yaru” Ubuntu community theme (Carlo Lobrano, MadsRH, and Frederik), as well as Daniel Foré from elementary OS, David Britton from the Ubuntu Server team, and Michael Tunnell from tuxdigital.com.
There are show notes for each episode which are professionally produced by Samantha, the silent member of the Ubuntu Podcast.
About the Hosts
Alan Pope describes himself as a Snap Advocate at Canonical working on Ubuntu, podcaster, father, husband, cat lover & a geek through and through. He grew up with a ZX81 home computer.
Mark Johnson describes himself as metal loving, Linux using, bass playing, podcasting, slam dancing, geeky, and hairy web developer.
Martin Wimpress is a member of the Ubuntu Desktop team at Canonical and works on desktop and devices. By night he makes Ubuntu MATE, a free and open-source Linux distribution and an official derivative of Ubuntu.
There are other hosts including guest hosts.
We were deeply saddened when Laura Cowen stepped down as a host of the show, but the show has retained its vibrancy.
