SubjectsPlus is a free and open source tool to help manage interrelated parts of a library website.
It allows users to manage:
- Research Guides (i.e. subject, course, etc.)
- Database A-Z List
- Staff List
- FAQs
- Suggestion Box
- Videos (i.e. produced in-library)
The subject guides can be created by librarians with no technical knowledge, since much of the operation is via WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors.
Features include:
- Customizable – Add your own headers & footers, tweak the layout & css, add data via the API.
- Create unlimited Research Guides via drag’n’drop interface.
- Staff List – Sorted A-Z, By Department, By Librarian.
- Database List – A-Z, By Format, By Subject.
- FAQs – Store your FAQs in one handy place, integrate them anywhere via API.
- Suggestion Box – Easy way to display and respond to patron comments; now multi-site.
- Video Management – Ingest video metadata from YouTube or Vimeo, organize and display in one place on your site.
