Summary
ticker is simple software that lets you track stocks, currencies, cryptocurrencies, commodities and indexes. If you’re looking for a CLI application to monitor your stock portfolio, ticker must just be the ticket.
There’s a good range of options available. There’s useful additions like printing holdings, support for cryptocurrencies, and custom colors are available.
ticker has amassed over 4,000 GitHub stars.
There’s quite a few features we’d love added such as the ability to track option positions. And given that data is scraped from Yahoo finance’s unofficial API, there’s the possibility that the service could be pulled at any time. It would be better if additional APIs were supported so there’s at least a fallback position.
