tnftp is a portable version of NetBSD’s enhanced FTP client. It was previously known as lukemftp and builds on the traditional BSD ftp command while adding numerous conveniences for interactive and non-interactive transfers.
The program retains the familiar command-driven FTP workflow, making it straightforward for users accustomed to classic Unix FTP clients. It supplements that interface with command-line editing, completion, a configurable prompt, progress reporting and URL fetching.
tnftp can also fetch FTP, HTTP and HTTPS resources directly from the command line. This lets it act as a compact transfer utility in scripts as well as an interactive FTP shell.
