Xnoise is a media player for Gtk+ with an attractive graphical user interface, fast performance, and bags of features.
This software is primarily a music player but can also play videos. What makes this software unique is that uses a tracklist centric design.
The tracklist is a compilation of music or video tracks that are played consecutively without being removed. The user can therefore queue any track in any order, regardless of whether or not they are on the same album.
Features include:
- Very lightweight player.
- Handles all media supported by GStreamer, a pipeline-based multimedia framework.
- Media browser displays all media in a hierarchical tree structure.
- Single or multiple tracks, streams, albums or artists may be dragged on to the tracklist and reordered to your preference.
- Plugin support provides additional functionality including Last.fm covers, mediawatcher, and lyric fetching.
