Yarock – excellent Qt music player with browsing based on cover art

Last Updated on February 2, 2023

Summary

I’m growing to like Yarock more and more. Give it time, and you might find this music player tickles your fancy!

I really like the context view. It gives a biography of the artist/group, together with information about similar artists, and song lyrics. This information is pulled from Spotify, DiscoGs, LastFM, and Lyrics services.

I’ve been writing a lot about web based technology music players over the last few months. Some of them gobble up large chunks of memory and CPU. Yarock isn’t web technology based. And I’m pleased to report that Yarock is frugal with system resources. RAM usage hovers around 340MB. And it’s light on the CPU too!
