It aims to provide a nice UI that is suitable for installing on older machines. It is much lighter than OSes like Windows 11 or 10 or some other Linux distros.

Minimum requirements:

  • 1 GB of RAM or more.
  • Single core CPU with 1.5GHz clock speed or more powerful.
  • 17 GB hard drive or more (SSD is also supported too).

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")?

A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system.

Each distro makes different choices, deciding which open source projects to install and provides custom written programs. They can have different philosophies.

Some distros are intended for desktop computers, some for servers without a graphical interface, and others for special uses. Because Linux is an open source operating system, combinations of software vary between Linux distros.

The distro looks fantastic. I love to see LXDE still being used. I prefer to have a Distro feature on DistroWatch before trying it.
