textlint is a pluggable linting framework for natural-language text. Markdown and plain text are supported by default, while plugins can add support for other document formats.
Rather than imposing a bundled style guide, textlint lets users install the rules they need. This makes it particularly useful for documentation projects that want to enforce their own vocabulary, grammar, terminology or writing conventions.
Rules can provide automatic fixes, while a selection of output formatters makes the command-line tool suitable for both local use and automated workflows.
This is free and open source software.
